Quick Answer
The total number of playable races in ArcheAge Chronicles is not confirmed. Your class determines your race: Warrior and Ranger are Human, while Mage is Elf. Berserker's official race name remains unconfirmed.
| Class | Race |
|---|---|
| Warrior class | Human |
| Ranger | Human |
| Mage class | Elf |
| Berserker class | Official name unconfirmed; descriptions differ between Orc or half-giant and Warborn. |
Can you choose any race for any class?
No, your race is tied to your class in the current Early Access selection.
You cannot freely combine the listed races and classes. For an Elf character, the current pairing is Mage. For a Human character, your options are Warrior and Ranger. Compare the ArcheAge Chronicles classes before settling on a character.
What race is Berserker?
Berserker's official race name is not confirmed.
One description suggests Orc or half-giant; another suggests Warborn. Both are uncertain identifications, so you should not treat any of those names as official. The exact name will be added when confirmed.
Use the class pairings above when planning your character. The original ArcheAge race roster does not confirm which races you can play in ArcheAge Chronicles.
Will you be able to choose races freely later?
Removal of race locks has not been confirmed.
Plans to remove gender locks do not confirm the same change for races. Check the gender locked classes guide when comparing those separate character restrictions. For now, choose a class with its current race pairing in mind.
